Haole Brownies Recipe: A Sweet Twist on Classic Blondies

If you’re a fan of chewy, buttery blondies, then you’re going to love these Haole Brownies, inspired by the famous Kamehameha Schools Brownie recipe in Hawaii. These golden treats are packed with rich, sweet flavors and a hint of island flair, thanks to the optional addition of macadamia nuts. With a simple list of ingredients and easy steps, this recipe is perfect for whipping up a batch of irresistible blondies for any occasion.

Whether you’re baking for a family gathering, a school bake sale, or just for yourself, these Haole Brownies will quickly become a favorite. The soft and chewy texture paired with the sweetness of the brown sugar and buttery goodness makes these a crowd-pleaser every time.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 1/4 sticks (3/4 cup) Butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 cup Macadamia Nuts, chopped (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 13x9in baking pan. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl (or the bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment), cream together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and butter. Mix until the mixture is light, fluffy, and well combined.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed butter and sugar, mixing until just incorporated.
  4. Add the eggs to the batter and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in tougher brownies.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped macadamia nuts for an extra burst of flavor and crunch.
  6. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and continue to mix on medium speed for 2 minutes (or stir by hand for about 5 minutes) until the batter is well combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and place it on the bottom rack of the oven. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the brownies have risen and flattened.
  8. After the brownies have flattened completely (about 3 minutes after removing them from the oven), transfer them to a cooling rack. Once they are warm to the touch, cut them into your desired size. Enjoy these delicious Haole Brownies on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!

These Haole Brownies are a delightful blend of buttery, chewy goodness with the option of adding macadamia nuts for an extra Hawaiian touch. Perfect for any occasion, this easy recipe will bring a little taste of Hawaii to your kitchen.
